Holland & Knight's goal, through the Opening Doors for Children program, is to infuse the law firm's volunteers into the community, helping children in need of tutors, mentors, and role models.

Opening Doors For Children infuses time and charitable funding that changes lives – It's an adult who helps a child with reading comprehension, and a Foundation that offers a chance to see live actors on stage. Opening Doors is about having a mentor who cares about you, and getting a chance to go to summer camp. It's proving to a foster child that there are constants in life, like a mentor, and that participating in sports or scouting is loads of fun!

To date, we estimate that Opening Doors for Children has touched the lives of over 35,000 children since it's inception in 1995

We estimate that since 1995, the Opening Doors for Children Program has distributed 275,000 books into the homes of needy children.

Since 1995, Holland & Knight partners and staff members have spent approximately 5,000 hours mentoring, tutoring, and organizing outreach projects for community children – simply for goodness, simply out of compassion, and often times without fanfare.
